What 100 miles to Key West taught me about pacing
The first 30 miles feel easy. That's exactly the problem.
Wealth Advisor/Endurance Athlete/Author
I'm Thomas Yannetti. Wealth advisor, endurance athlete, and author. I believe the same discipline that carries you across a finish line can help you build a more intentional and successful life.

01My Story
I grew up in South Hackensack, New Jersey, and spent twelve years on a wrestling mat learning that nobody hands you anything. I studied finance and accounting at Ramapo College of New Jersey, started building my practice during an internship in 2019, and went full-time in April 2020 with zero clients.
In 2022 I lived in a different city almost every month. St. Petersburg is the one that stuck. A year later I crossed the finish line of my first Ironman, having never ridden a road bike or swum competitively before that season.
Both of those things, the practice and the racing, were built the same way: one unglamorous day at a time. This site is where I share what that has taught me.
02The Endurance Mindset
Wealth isn't a sprint. It's an Ironman.
The things that got me through 140.6 miles are the same things I lean on running a business and planning for the long run. Not because money is a race, but because both reward the people who show up for years.
Race day is just the receipt. The real work happens in the months nobody sees, and a financial plan is no different.
No one gets fit from one heroic workout. Boring, repeatable habits win, in training and with money.
Every long race has a low point. Having a plan is what keeps you from making a bad decision inside of it.
I'd rather be right in year ten than impressive in week one. That's how I train, and how I build.
03The Endurance Journey
Before 2023 I had never ridden a road bike or swum competitively. Everything since came from research, trial, and a lot of error. Here's the record so far.
Panama City Beach, FL
First full Ironman, the same year I rode a road bike for the first time.
Haines City, FL
Back to the half distance, with a full Ironman of lessons behind me.
Key Largo to Key West
A hundred miles down the Overseas Highway, one mile marker at a time.
Miami, FL
First Hyrox, raced with my best friend and training partner.
Philadelphia, PA
Eighteen-week build. Chasing a new PR on November 22.

04The Book
I started writing this book in October 2025, somewhere between training blocks and client meetings. It's about what endurance racing taught me about money, business, and building something that lasts.
Part race report, part playbook. Written for anyone who wants a financial life that holds up over decades, not quarters.

The first 30 miles feel easy. That's exactly the problem.
Most of the work is unglamorous, and that's the point.
What I'd tell myself in April 2020, my first month full-time.
